Lightened Up Ice Cream Float

This twist on one of my childhood favorites is only 3 WW points, 90 calories, and only takes two ingredients! So refreshing, especially on a hot day!

Fun fact about me is I used to serve at a restaurant that was famous for their delicious Root Beer Floats! I would have one almost daily, especially on a hot summer day, but I would have regular soda and regular ice cream which when I started Weight Watchers realized this was costing me about 11 Weight Watcher points, had almost 300 calories, and about 40 grams of sugar! I realized that was going to have to be more of an occasional treat, and that if I wanted to fit these in frequently I’d have to lighten it up.

That’s when I took two WW staples of mine and put them together, and was blown away with how perfect it tatsted!

One of my favorite flavors of diet soda I’ve ever found is the Diet Dr .Pepper & Cream, and you will always see the Target Favorite Day reduced calorie Cookie Dough Ice cream in my freezer, but there are SO many combinations you can do here, so just use this as inspiration and get creative with what you have on hand!

How To Make This Diet Ice Cream Float

Coulnd’t be easier! Just pour a chilled can of diet soda into a glass (for extra fun put the glass in the freezer before hand!) and slowly add the ice cream, being careful it doesn’t explode over! I added 1/2 cup of the ice cream for 3 Weight Watchers points, and the soda of course is zero points!
