Lightened up Honey pepper pimento Chicken Sandwich- Chick-Fil-A Dupe

This lightened up version of Chick-fil-A's Honey Pepper Pimento Chicken Sandwich is only 6 WW Points, bursting with flavor, super easy to make, and quickly became one of my favorites!

The MOMENT I saw the commercial for the new Chick-fil-a Honey Pepper Pimento sandwich, I knew I had to make a lightened up version. After all, fried chicken sandwiches are my love language, and making lightened up versions of various fast food ones has been a HUGE part of my success. It’s one of my favorite things to do!

The Chick-fil-A version of this sandwich is 21 points!! That’s totally doable on occasion, and I love fitting in the real deal once in awhile, but making my own versions helps me stay within my point budget while also satisfying my craving, and my body also thanks me for this less saturated fat way.

When I’m lightening up a sandwich, what I do is first go to the website of the restaurant I’m trying to recreate, and take note of the ingredients. Chick-fil-A listed they use Pimento cheese, a toasted bun, a chicken patty, jalapenos, and honey. I knew that would be pretty simple to do, because I already have my 1 point Shake and Bake chicken patty in mind, and I am in control of how much of the other ingredients I use.

I grabbed a container of Pimento cheese from Walmart, and scanned it in the WW app. I only wanted to spend about 2 points on the cheese, so I changed it to grams and knew if I used 17 grams of this brand, it would let me do that. I used regular honey, just less of it.

WHAT YOU NEED TO MAKE THIS LIGHTENED UP HONEY PEPPER PIMENTO CHICKEN SANDWICH:

These are the ingredients you need to make this delicious sandwich.

  • 647 SANDWICH ROLL- 2 POINTS – Thes are my favorite light rolls as you’d never know they aren’t the regular version, I find them at Walmart, but know they aren’t easy to find in other states so feel free to use any bun of your liking just adjust your points. If you felt like ordering them online the only place I suggest grabbing them from is Netrition.com ( I have no affiliation with that website it is just one of my favorites)
  • 4 OZ CHICKEN BREAST- 0 POINTS – Cut this into a filet, and I like it to be about 1/2 thick or so
  • 12 GRAMS EXTRA CRISPY SHAKE AND BAKE-1 POINT Extra crispy shake and bake has been the biggest game changer for me since starting to replicate that “fried chicken” vibe.
  • 1 EGG OR 3 TBSP EGG BEATERS-0 POINTS- This is to coat the chicken, I personally love the way egg beaters or substitute works for coating with the shake and bake, but an egg definitely works too.
  • 17 GRAMS OF PRICE PIMENTO CHEESE- 2 POINTS – You can just any pimento cheese you can find, but I loved this Price Pimentro cheese from walmart, and I measured out 2 points worth. It was perfect,
  • 7 GRAMS OF HONEY- Any honey works here! Just weigh it out to be 7 grams, which is only 1 WW point!

How to make this lightened up honey pepper pimento sandwich

To make this sandwich, we need to make the fried chicken patty. First, pre-heat your air fryer to 375 degrees. Next, set up a shallow bowl with egg, and a small plate with 12 grams of the extra crispy shake and bake. Cut your chicken into a filet, coat in the egg, and then fully coat the chicken with the shake and bake and place in your air fryer. I cooked mine about 12 minutes, but it will depend on the thickness of your chicken so I always suggest checking with a digital thermometer.

Once the chicken is done, its time to assemble the sandwich. Toast your bun, add the chicken patty, the pimento cheese, jalapenos, and drizzle with the honey. That’s it! It is truly one of the best lightened up sandwiches I have ever had!

-*You can use the oven for the shake and bake, just follow the directions on the packaging for that.*
