Zero Point Popcorn
Zero Point Popcorn, in my opinion, is an absolute GIFT from Weight Watchers! I absolutely love knowing I have a high volume snack that I can eat by itself or use to bulk up other things that I want. For example, if I really want some chocolate, I can add it to my popcorn to get that sweet and salty vibe while not spending a lot of points and still satisfying that craving!
I also realized if I have a bowl as my mid afternoon snack between lunch and dinner, it helps me go into dinner and evening time a lot more rationale as opposed to when I don’t and find myself graving on my kids snacks or meals that I’m cooking them.
What is zero point popcorn?
Any popcorn kernels that you pop yourself is considered zero points! Pre-packaged popcorn does NOT count towards your zero point popcorn!
You do not need to add any oil when youre cooking these! There are so many variations and popcorn makers on the market, but I’ll show you how I make mine!
The popcorn maker I use is this collapsible silicone one that I purchased off amazon! You can grab that here. My favorite kernels have been using the PopSecret JUMBO kernels! I purchased these at Target. Any kernels work here though! I typically just measure out one serving and pop for 1:50 seconds. That seems to be the sweet spot for my microwave!
Toppings
First things first, I find this zero point popcorn spray butter an absolute MUST! I order the 3 pack from amazon (when it’s in stock) and you can grab that here and I have also had luck finding it at Walmart! I also use I can’t believe it’s not butter spray!
(Please note that if you purchase anything via these links I do make a small commision)
For seasonings, you can totally get creative! A few of my favorites in rotation have been using Trader Joes ranch seasoning, Truffle seasoning, or even Nutritional Yeast! I also love doing a caramel seasoning and adding some chocolate chips for more of a sweet and salty vibe!
I also love to use this to bulk up things I’m craving. Since I am a volume eater, having a handful of m&m’s doesn’t do much for me by itself.. but add them to zero point popcorn and you still get to have them while also filling up! Win win!
