Healthy bbq Chicken Pita Pizza

Pita Pizzas were a huge part of my success during my weight loss journey, as they are super low in points, packed with protein (This pita pizza has 36 grams of protein!!), and so delicious. There are so many variations I've made, but this BBQ Chicken is a classic and one of my favorites! This is only ONE point on WW!

I can not even begin to tell you how crucial making different variations of pita pizzas were for my throughout my weight loss journey. They are always so delicious, lower calorie ,high protein, lower point, and totally satisfying. The options are endless! This BBQ chicken pita pizza is one of my top favorites, and one I started making at the very beginning of my Weight Watchers journey, because the entire thing is only ONE, yes that’s right I said ONE WW point! This is something I would utilize for lunch or dinner if I had a higher point meal or snack planned during that day. It always filled me up while keeping my points low.

It’s beyond simple, requires only a few ingredients, and comes together super quickly.

What you’ll need for this Healthy BBQ Chicken Pita Pizza:

  • 20 grams of fat free mozzarella cheese – zero points (pro tip: spray your fat free cheese with cooking spray and it will melt so much better! You can also “wash your cheese” but I find it easier to just use the spray!)
  • 3 oz rotisserie chicken breast- zero points or any chicken of your choice I just love using the rotisserie chicken
  • 1 Josephs Pita Bread – 1 WW point -These are truly one of my favorite finds ever. Make sure when you are buying them, the label says “flax, oat bran & whole wheat” and that the entire pita is only 60 calories. Those are the ones that are one point. Joseph’s brand does have other higher point/calorie pitas.
  • 2 tbsp Rays No Sugar Added BBQ Sauce- zero points This is far and above my favorite bbq sauce, You’d never know it was no sugar added and its amazing for zero points. I use it almost daily.
  • 1 Tbsp Sliced Jalapenos- This is of course optional but I love the crunch it gives me!

This is all you need! Just a handful of ingredients. I even took it a step further in the easy department and used rotisserie chicken (another one of my staples!) but you can absolutely use any chicken you want.

HOW TO MAKE THIS HEALTHY BBQ CHICKEN PITA PIZZA:

First, pre-heat the oven to 425 degrees, add the Josephs pita to a piece of parchment paper and pre-bake about 3-4 minutes. Then I take it out of the oven, add 1.5 tbsp of the bbq sauce and spread it all over the pita, add the rotisserie chicken, top that with the fat free mozzarella cheese and jalapenos. Give it a good spray of cooking spray to help the cheese get nice and melty! Put back in the oven for another 4-5 minutes. Cut into 4 slices.

I usually use my air fryer every chance I get, but I do prefer the pita pizzas in the oven. I find the air fryer crisps the crust up too much before the cheese melts. It def does work, and if you are going to use the air fryer I would cut the pre baking step out and just add all of the ingredients and air fry 400 about 5 minutes or so!

Enjoy!
